Seller Policy

Last updated: January 27, 2026

Welcome to ScrapIsGood. This Seller Policy explains what's expected of sellers on our platform, how selling works, and how we help keep the marketplace fair and trustworthy for everyone.

Our goal is to support sellers while creating a reliable experience for buyers.

1. Who Can Sell on Our Marketplace

To sell on ScrapIsGood, you must:

  • Create a seller account
  • Provide accurate profile and payout information
  • Agree to this Seller Policy and our other marketplace policies

Sellers are independent individuals or businesses.

2. Listing Items for Sale

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that all listings are:

  • Accurate, clear, and truthful
  • Properly categorized
  • Representative of the actual item being sold

Listings should include:

  • Clear descriptions of materials and condition
  • Accurate dimensions, quantities, and tolerances (where relevant)
  • Photos of the actual item whenever possible
  • Any known defects, limitations, or handling considerations

Misleading or incomplete listings may be removed.

3. Pricing & Fees

  • Sellers set their own item prices
  • Shipping costs are currently determined by carrier flat rate fees
  • ScrapIsGood currently charges a 10% fee (on the combined item total + shipping costs, not including taxes)

Sellers are responsible for understanding how fees affect their final payout.

4. Orders & Payments

When an order is placed:

  • The buyer's payment is processed by our payment provider
  • Funds are released to the seller according to our payout schedule
  • Payouts are made to the seller's designated account

Sellers are responsible for keeping payout information up to date.

5. Shipping & Fulfillment

Sellers are responsible for:

  • Packing/shipping items promptly
  • Packaging items appropriately for their material and condition
  • Using the shipping method specified in the listing

Accurate shipping information helps avoid disputes and delays.

6. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

Please see our Terms of Use policy.

General expectations:

  • Sales are final. ScrapIsGood does not support refunds or returns due to a buyer changing their mind.
  • Issues do come up. Improperly packaged items, incorrect labelling, and other issues out of the Buyer's control are expected to be reviewed by Sellers.
  • Respond promptly to Buyer inquiries about issues
  • Work in good faith to resolve problems

If an item is damaged in transit or significantly not as described, sellers are expected to cooperate in resolving the issue.

7. Communication & Professional Conduct

Sellers are expected to:

  • Respond to buyer messages in a timely and respectful manner
  • Communicate clearly about delays or issues

Harassment, misleading communication, or attempts to bypass the platform are not permitted.

8. Prohibited Items & Content

Sellers may not list items that are:

  • Illegal, stolen, or restricted by law
  • Dangerous or hazardous without proper disclosure
  • In violation of intellectual property rights
  • Prohibited by our platform rules

We reserve the right to remove listings that violate these guidelines.

9. Disputes & Marketplace Review

If a dispute arises:

  • Buyers will initiate an issue resolution process
  • Buyers and sellers should first attempt to resolve the issue directly
  • If needed, our support team may review the situation and related information

We may take action to protect the marketplace, including:

  • Removing listings
  • Pausing seller accounts
  • Withholding payouts in cases of suspected fraud or policy violations

10. Seller Performance & Account Standing

We may monitor basic seller performance signals, such as:

  • Order completion
  • Responsiveness
  • Repeated complaints or disputes

Accounts that consistently fail to meet marketplace standards may be restricted or removed.

11. Taxes & Legal Responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for:

  • Ensuring their listings and sales comply with local, state, and federal laws

Our payment provider determines tax obligations during the checkout process. ScrapIsGood does not provide tax or legal advice.

12. Policy Updates

As our marketplace evolves, this policy may be updated. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
